The Timeless Mama Podcast: Sharing about Faith, Family, Natural Living, and Homemaking.
By Robbi Bittle
It is my prayer that this would be a Titus 2 ministry of sorts, that this podcast would encourage, challenge, and equip you in your family like and homemaking.
Being a homemaker has something of a bad wrap. I share why, no matter if you work outside of the home, work from home, or are a stay at home wife or mom, homemaking is important.

Christ Centered Christmas Activities for Advent
Christ Centered Christmas
This time of year can be incredibly busy, but it is important to be intentional with making sure our families understand the reason for the season. The holiday season is here, are you ready to make it a Christ centered Christmas?
This episode is not meant to shame parents for celebrating in the way that they choose or choose not to. It is simply to share what we do in our family.
The Reason for the Season
Faith at home is something that is very important to us. Living out Deuteronomy 6:4-9.
Some people start celebrating the day after Thanksgiving, others December 1st. I can watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas music year round.
One thing that we try to do is make the season about Christ, and not Santa or gifts. We are still working on our traditions. We do not ‘do’ Santa.
We do not hold being naughty or nice over the children’s heads. God’s gift of grace is completely undeserved, and we should strive to live holy lives not because we might not get a treat if we are naughty, but because we love Jesus.
Santa is not the all-seeing, all-knowing being that many make him out to be. Only God is. An Elf sent to spy on the kids does not quite fit with our goals for the Christmas season.
A lot of families do Elf on the Shelf, but I’ve been looking for more Christ centered Christmas/Advent activities. I found one that I really like, I think we will try to start it next year, but here are some ideas for you. Some are very much like Elf, others are printables, some are books to read, and a lot of other activities.
Today I am sharing what we are using to make sure this Advent season is truly a Christ centered one. The Importance of Routines and Expectations in Raising Children
How you ever been in a situation where you had no idea what was expected of you? You kept doing the wrong thing? Imagine being a child and having to figure out the expected behaviors in different settings. Often we expect our kids to automatically know how to behave, but here's the thing: if they haven't been taught how are they to meet our expectations?
How does a routine help you doing your daily life? Or on outings? New situations with children can be tough, but we shouldn't judge a new habit or routine by the first time or two because they are not yet habit or routine.
Letting your children in on your expectations and using routines are some of the best parenting tools out there.
