Ep.1: Experts in the Field: Renewables – opportunities for landowners in 2022 and beyond

In our first episode Edward Venmore, Head of Foot Anstey's Farms, Estates and Rural Land team discusses renewable opportunities for landowners with team colleague Danielle Spalding and in-house expert, Kutahya Cherry.

The future of farming is changing. With the COP26 summit bringing parties together to accelerate action, the focus is very much on our climate. Using our natural resources to supply clean energy is something everyone can expect to see a lot more of , in line with the UK's commitment to net-zero goals. The agriculture sector has also pledged to achieve net zero by 2040. As a result, an increasing number of farmers and landowners are looking at renewable energy opportunities.

In this podcast we'll consider key points including how rural landowners are in a core strategic position in the development of the UK's renewables infrastructure, the effect of COP26 and the UK's Net Zero Strategy, key landowner concerns, understanding of developers' expectations, what legal documents are needed and factors to consider on 'identified land' including vacant possession.
