Episode 18 - Liza Talusan - Making Trouble & Breaking Through Racism
Hey everybody, we’re so excited for you to listen to this very, very juicy episode that we recorded with Dr. Liza Talusan. There's just so much jam packed in there. How to be a good troublemaker ally; we talked about toxic workplaces and where diversity, equity, inclusion, justice fit into all that. Why do people even talk about justice? Can we even reach justice, inclusivity, equity in places that are intentionally exclusive? We even talked about the craft of being facilitators, of being trainers, and why does it even cost so much. So you're in for a real treat, and spoiler alert: we're going to have a part two. So enjoy!

Episode 17 - Enrico Manalo - Spoken and Unspoken
Today you're in for a treat, spoiler alert, Alexis and I are going to be taking this awesome conversation that we are going to share with you today with Enrico and going to take that to the next level and bring it to All Aces podcast, intentionally act now. Just to give you a preview of what we talked about, today we went everywhere from winding career paths, to thinking meta about systems. We talked about conflict resolution. I learned a lot about pro-social silence and organizational silence. It's really juicy really, exciting, really thinking about sort of the purpose of language and conversation and how do we bring ourselves towards taking collective action, individual action, and start to address systemic change. So with that, enjoy this podcast with Enrico

Episode 10 - Skylar Economy & Clarence Ford - Igniting Hope Through Storytelling
Today we are so excited to bring you this podcast. We covered everything about what it means to be somebody who was formerly incarcerated to someone who is now essentially being a role model for hundreds, if not thousands, of people currently in the prison system--giving them hope and giving them a path for the future. We talked about FITE which is an amazing film. We also talked about people with disabilities and the struggles that are happening right now. We talked about where we're going as we move forward with changes to the prison system as well. I definitely learned several things that I did not know about incarceration and the way the prison system or the justice system works. This is a very informative and definitely emotional episode today.

In this episode we talked with professor Khalid Kadir who is a continuing lecturer at UC Berkeley and a teaching professor at Presidio graduate School. We really went out there and did the work of understanding the intersection between how our culture and our economy is set up and the impacts it has on equity for all sorts of different people. We talked about how COVID-19 has really shown us the health inequities that were already there and really highlighted the difficulties that we’re having. How we're treating our elders and our essential workers. We also talked about action items. Learned about how COVID-19 is affecting Muslim communities, teachers and students.
