We cross back over the pond in title only and return to “The Tent” for more Great American Baking-Show fun. This time we are joined by a new host and a batch of new celebrity bakers ready to take on the challenges set forth by Dame Prue Leith and Baker extraordinaire Paul Hollywood. Fun fact we podcasted a good 20-25 minutes before realizing we were not recording but we still think it turned out wonderfully. And in a snap, the far too brief first series of The Great American Baking Show on The Roku Channel has concluded. It really was the best iteration of the multiple attempts at creating an “American” take on The Great British Bake-Off and was a delight to review and recap. We wrap this series of the show, and our show with Fancy Snack Cakes, an Afternoon Tea, and an amazing Pièce Montée, of which you will get a decent explanation about during the show. We told y’all we would return for more and here we are. It’s The Great American Baking Show, proof that the term Bake-Off needs too be freed from the clutches of Pillsbury. Y’all, this episode was so frustrating to watch. Like, it was a lot of yelling at the TV in disappointment at what our beloved chefs were doing. It was also, a super fun episode that kind of had us questioning the judges by the end. The team had company over this week and the chefs wanted to show out for him but that wasn’t the brief. How do they make up for embarrassing the parents when guests are visiting? Should anyone refer to something they make as “famous”? What should we be calling vegan meat replacements? All this and a little more on this week’s KP, BB, RC! That’s Krème Patisserie’s Big Brunch Recap if you couldn’t put it together. See you next week

This was the Ep that made Nic say, we should recap this show and once you watch it, I think you will see why. Honestly, The Big Brunch hit its stride this week. Most of the chefs absolutely crushed and it was very cool to witness. This week’s Brunch theme is Fine Dining and it was such a fun twist on one’s idea of what brunch can be. Tip your wait staff on your way out and enjoy.

As the chefs are slowly but surely winnowed away the best of the bunch begins to rise to the top. This was a baking week, meaning one chef had an advantage, did they take advantage and show out on their home court? Or, were the The LA Rams of baking, yes that is two sports in a single metaphor, let's move past it. Carbo Loading Week means it’s time to put some bread and spread on the table and it shows your chops. Was the right chef sent home? Was this week’s “Best in Brunch” truly the best? Find out that and so much more. Enjoy, we will see you again next week.

Back on set once again and this time we backed a truck up full of produce. Wildly colored carrots, beets, citrus and something called a loquat. Get on in here and sample our wares. This week, these chefs were on it. Beautifully seasoned dishes plated in ways that made the food damn near art which means we had a great time discussing the show’s output this week. Week 4 in the Tent was a rough one. Maybe because we are a bunch of left leaning elitist, but boy did this week seem a bit, well a bit racist to be honest with you. Tee even found an article about it that is this week’s “Bakers Make the World Go Round” segment.  But we talked it through, made some jokes and recapped the episode as we always do. We had our full compliment of bakers this week which was a good thing. But we also had the possibility of losing two bakers this go round as opposed to one so that stinks. We also had a technical challenge that had no baking at all which seems antithetical to the show premise at first, but Ant set’s us straight. Our third week in the tent was a little bit of everything. Two bakers were out this week (for an undisclosed but come on you know what it is illness) meaning the crown jewel of every season of Bake-Off was kind of lacking as Bread Week’s go. However, it was still just a riot. Just a whole lot of fun and funnies to be had. Week two in the tent and it’s time to make the biscuits. This week was an absolute banger and everything we love about Bake-Off. Signature and Showstopper were of course of particular note this week but this week’s Technical has a lesson about the complexities of the English language. Well, here we are for the last time, at least for this series of this show. It's the Finals of GBBO. Our finalist are Chigs, Crystelle and Giuseppe and crown a winner amongst the greatest class bakers in Bake-Off history. We hope you enjoyed this series, we will be back in the new year with something else so keep an eye out.

It's the Semi-Finals and as in all matters sport, this is when players step up. This was hands down, one of the best episodes in the history of this program. It was a master class in baking and a delight to witness. Until it wasn't.

The playoffs have begun and this is when it gets really real in the tent. With so few bakers remaining you get more time with each of them and often learn more about them. It was a really great episode to both watch and record.

We have arrived at Episode 6 of Series 12 Pastry Week. Honestly it was one of the finest and most fun episodes of the entire show. Join in on the fun as NicJu, Ant, and Tee discuss this brilliant episode.

Dessert Week has arrived and this week was a so good. Surprises abound and the person who needed to leave was indeed shown their way out of the tent. The Signature this week was a Pavlova. The Technical OG British classic Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Showstopper a Collared Jaconde Imprime. Seriously this was a great ep to watch and just as much fun to discuss. GO watch it then come back and give us a listen.

One would not think bread would be out here just bodying bakers but this week in the tent, one would be very wrong. It’s bread week in the GBBO tent and that makes for a lot of errors by our remaining bakers. How bad do the English butcher the words Focaccia and Ciabatta? Give the ep a listen and find out. We had a little static late in the episode, our apologies for the sound quality not being up to snuff. Please don’t kick us out of the podcast tent.

It’s Biscuit Week in the Tent and for nearly all the bakers it was a mix. Either one judge loved it and the other did not for the signature. In the technical, some of the bakers came up short. The showstopper, well, you should probably just listen. We are joined this week by NicJu of What’s The Tea to help us judge the judgers and just have a great time talking GBBO.
