Here's another documentary on successful watershed management though "agro ecological interventions" undertaken by AFEC in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. Desertification slashed the ground water table, desertified the landscape, brought in aridity, moisture stress, triggered repeated droughts, caused famine and starvation. The severe water stress implied a severe deficit in water supply and sanitation, public health, development index and so on.
