S4E8 - Episode8 - #IWD #CountHerIn with Neelima Mangal International Womens Day 2024

Hello everyone, and a heartfelt welcome to our special International Women's Day episode of "The Power of Women in the World of Tech" podcast!

I'm truly excited to conclude Season 4 on such a powerful note. This year, International Women's Day's campaign theme is 'Inspire Inclusion.' This subject serves as an awful reminder of the importance of diversity in our efforts to achieve gender equality.

Inclusion goes beyond just inviting women to the table; it's about valuing their voices, perspectives, and contributions. When we embrace inclusion, we create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their gender.

My Name is Neelima Mangal, your host, and today, as we wrap up Season 4, we're here to celebrate women's achievements with the theme "Climb, Lead, Succeed: Together We Rise."

As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's also remember the importance of self-celebration. Often, we seek validation from others, forgetting to appreciate our own achievements. It's essential to acknowledge your worth, journey, and accomplishments, no matter how big or small.

Celebrate yourself and be proud of the person you've become.

So, take a moment today to celebrate yourself. Acknowledge your hard work, resilience, and determination. Remember, the responsibility for celebrating your achievements lies with nobody else but you and it's never too late to do so.

Happy International Womens Day

Hello Everyone - I'm Neelima Mangal host of the The Power of Women in the world of Tech Podcast, the show where we promote women empowerment by fostering self confidence, leadership skills and motivate women to overcome the real life challenges they face within the corporate world today.

Women face a unique set of challenges, and I'd want to share my experiences in the hope that IT WOULD HELP colleagues in the workforce and life in general.

I've frequently been questioned about what is most important value to me and how the organization has changed to promote employee well-being amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

A secure, respectful, diverse, work-life balance, wellness-focused, and inclusive workplace is what I consider to be one that values the wellbeing of its employees.

Respect is a very critical element of a healthy and productive workforce.

Employers must put respect first by fostering a culture of inclusion, fostering open dialogue, recognizing and rewarding workers for their efforts, and fostering a workplace where everyone is treated with respect.

Thank you for joining me today.

The Power of Gratitude: Harnessing the Benefits of Thankfulness

Gratitude is such a powerful word.

Gratitude can be expressed in many ways, from simply saying "thank you" to someone who has helped you, to keeping a gratitude journal where we record the things we are thankful for each day. It can also be cultivated through mindfulness practices, such as meditation or reflection, which help us to become more aware of the positive aspects of our lives and to appreciate them fully.

Overall, cultivating gratitude can help our mental, physical, and emotional health in a variety of ways. It is an easy but effective technique for developing a good view on life and an appreciation for the benefits all around us.

So next time -  if you come across a good act or someone who has done something kind or helpful, it's always a nice gesture to express your gratitude and say "thank you".

Is Investing In Yourself Worth It?

What it means to invest in yourself is to make gradual improvements over time that help you do more, be more, develop more, and ultimately become your best self.

The power of Allyship at work and the benefits of having an ally

Do you remember your first day of school? Neither do I… but I can remember how I felt. Entering a foreign environment unsure of my place in the group, unsure of who I could trust and unsure if I would be accepted.

Practice of allyship is one of the best things any of us can do as individuals and leaders. This will serve as a representation of our own values in addition to assisting our efforts to recruit, nurture, retain, and advance top people inside our organisation.

The allyship journey starts with learning about discrimination and any privilege and power you have. There's a lot of material out there, so you can do this even if your organization isn't ready to have a conversation about allyship just yet.

As part of this series, we aim to promote women empowerment by fostering self confidence, leadership skills and motivate women to overcome the real life challenges they face within the corporate world today.
Women face a unique set of challenges, and I’d like to share my experiences in the hope that it will guide young colleagues in the workforce and life in general.
Every woman has her own journey, and the path is never easy. Everyone has her share of failures. It is how you deal with those failures and what you learn from them that matters. It is how you respond rather than react to those situations that matters. It is the lessons you learn from your failures that matters.
We are going to learn and move forward together.
This Podcast is for me, for you and all the other women in the world.
Let’s begin and empower the world together.

S1E7, Episode 7 - How to Unleash your Superpower and identify as Women in Tech?

Episode 7 - How to Unleash your Superpower and identify as Women in Tech? Are you a woman in STEM? I was a little bit late in identifying the concept of superpower.  In the early parts of my career I didn’t know that something like this existed, and even in some extent disregarded it.  Who do you admire? Start an Infinite List of what you do well Consider your proudest accomplishments Ask the people who know you well Identify what makes you happy? Superpowers aren’t a skill or an ability; they’re something unique that you can offer the world.  I have to come to believe that the earlier you find your superpower, the better. S1E5, Episode5 - How to thrive as a young women entering the workforce as women in tech

S1E5, Episode5 - How to thrive as a young women entering the workforce as women in tech

Episode5 - How to thrive as a young women entering the workforce as women in tech

The first day at your new job may be among the most memorable — and perhaps stressful — of your career.

“Most of us remember our first days at every job because of the heightened pressure to impress,”

What do today’s young women need to know? Here are few tips I would like to share with all my listeners and young women colleagues -

  1. Be eager to learn, but don’t be a pushover.
  2. It’s a different mindset from college.
  3. Believe in your Strengths and honeover
  4. Approach the first job as an opportunity to get your feet wet.
  5. Learn to accept criticism
  6. Don’t stop learning.
  7. Find a Mentor and a Sponsor
  8. Take risks and speak up

Strive to be the person that people count on. At the end of the day, it’s about how much you know and how well you sell it.

Establish a group of mentors to whom you can turn to bounce an idea around or check in about a possible career move.

Have the confidence to take more risks early on, even if it means that you might trip along the way, because ultimately you will learn from those experiences. Ask for the big assignment, make that cross-country move if it means more opportunity for growth. Although I didn’t start taking risks until later in my career, every risk I did take ultimately led to personal and professional development and the realization that ultimately it all works out, and is just part of your journey. I wish I had known that when I was just starting out as I probably would have taken even bigger risks, earlier in my career.

Don’t look back, and don’t hesitate. You are worth it!

S1E2, Episode2 - How Women can build Confidence in the Workforce, beat Imposter Syndrome and take a Seat at the table

Episode2 - How Women can build Confidence in the Workforce, beat Imposter Syndrome and take a Seat at the table
How as a Women, Young lady you can crush Self-Doubt and Build Self-Confidence

Start with belief, not talent
The importance of knowing your value
Use physical cues to refocus
Keep affirmations grounded
Beat impostor syndrome with a brag sheet
Draw energy from positive people
Catch the good, not just the bad
Persist in building your self-confidence

Takeaway -
Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable, believe in your strengths, most importantly love yourself.
Stop being someone else. Be you! If you are struggling in your career despite your amazing education and expertise, - don’t give up.
We have to be willing to persist just like the mastery of any task in the workplace and give it an opportunity to grab hold.
And so for the listeners that are out there, be patient with yourselves and be patient with the people that you're leading, because good things will happen if you give it an opportunity to shine, and you will see a cultural shift in the people, and most importantly, or just as importantly, a cultural shift in yourself and how you approach leading.
Don’t look back, and don’t hesitate. You are worth it!

S1E1, Episode1 - How to Invest in Yourself to get the best out of you and boost your career

S1E1, Episode1 - How to Invest in Yourself to get the best out of you and boost your career

Episode1 - How to Invest in Yourself to Get the Best Out of You and boost your career
Have you ever wondered how to invest in yourself as a woman, so you can reach your infinite potential?

Here are six ways I have Invested in myself -

Establish a personal brand and online presence
Identify your SuperPower
Consider getting a formal mentor
Learn what you don’t know
Practice Negotiating
Attend conferences that pique your passion

Investing in yourself increases your value -

When I’ve invested in myself, it has boosted my confidence.
You build awareness and adjust your beliefs to align with reality, giving you the positive outlook to help achieve your goals.
You become better at understanding the extent of your own limitations. This will allow you to set more meaningful, actionable goals.

Takeaway -
I would advise to a young woman who's just starting in tech, that believe in self-discovery, Invest in yourself, have short-term and long-terms goals which is very important.
Most importantly know your strengths. Be comfortable to be uncomfortable. Step out of your comfort zone.. You will come out very, very strong. Trust me, that happens.
Have the appetite to learn because you stop growing when you don't learn. If you set yourself up for ongoing improvement as part of the initial stages of your investment, your relationships will benefit. A support system will develop as we begin stepping out of our comfort zone. And that is how to invest in yourself as a woman, every day
Don’t look back, and don’t hesitate. You are worth it!
