Breaking into Bitcoin Development with Kody Low from Fedi - The Bitcoin Talent Co. Podcast 43

Episode #43 of The Bitcoin Talent Co. Podcast with the Head of Developer & Product Support at Fedi, Kody Low.

Welcome back to the Bitcoin Talent Co podcast, where we dive into the journeys of professionals in the Bitcoin industry. In this episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Kody, a former Marine Corps infantry officer turned Bitcoin developer, who shared his incredible journey into the Bitcoin space.

Kody's story is a testament to the power of self-education and open-source contribution. During his deployment, he utilized his downtime to teach himself how to code, leveraging online resources like Replit. His persistence and willingness to learn led him to contribute to open-source projects, which became the foundation of his career in Bitcoin.

Kody emphasized the importance of working on open-source projects as a way to gain experience with the technology used by companies in the Bitcoin industry. He shared his experience working on Fedimint, an open-source protocol for building federated e-cash mints, which eventually translated into a role at Fedi, a company building on top of Fedimint.

Throughout the episode, Kody provided valuable insights into the hiring process at Fedi, highlighting the importance of mission alignment and the ability to tackle problems persistently. He also shared opportunities for junior developers to get involved with Fedimint through Base58's Bitcoin Developer course, offering a pathway for those looking to break into the Bitcoin development space.

Kody's journey is a powerful reminder that with dedication and the right approach, anyone can contribute to Bitcoin and potentially turn their passion into a full-time career. Whether you're technical or not, there's a place for you in the Bitcoin industry, and Kody's story is proof of that.

If you're inspired by Kody's story and want to learn more about working in Bitcoin, don't forget to rate, review, and share this podcast. Stay tuned for more interviews with industry professionals, and let's continue to bring more talent into the world of Bitcoin.
