Martial Arts and More is a podcast presented by the Milwaukee, Wisconsin based J.K. Lee Community. We are exploring our tenets: courtesy, integrity, perseverance and self control. It is developed by our students and is geared toward youth ages 10 and up. J.K. Lee City Youth Martial Arts Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making the many benefits of martial arts available to all youth and families. Through this podcast, our youth see examples of our tenets in action while learning about communication and presentation.

Bully Prevention Month with Master Chan Lee

Bully Prevention Month with Master Chan Lee

Master Lee, Grand Master Lee’s son, started studying Tae Kwon Do when he was five years old. He took over the business aspects of the school after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in communications. Master Lee is the former Wisconsin state Tae Kwon Do coach and has been featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and on CNN. His message and mission to improve his students lives was recently the focus of an MTV Made episode.

Master Lee has trained staff at the Miller Brewing Company, worked with local schools and universities including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and helped train airline pilots and crew following the September 11th attacks. Master Lee has appeared in many martial arts publications. He is an active participant of the Ultimate Black Belt Test and provides consulting to martial arts schools across the country.

Martial Arts & More with the National Kidney Foundation, Wisconsin

February 2021 Special Guests, Michael Crowley and Alyse Bailey from the National Kidney Foundation of  Wisconsin. Also joining us is a founding friend of J.K. Lee City Youth, Jim Ippolite. Enjoy their inspiring messages of kindness, perseverance, giving and indomitable spirit!

Michael Crowley is the Executive Director of the National Kidney Foundation, Wisconsin. He is the past CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County and has a strong background in the nonprofit sector. He is also serving his fifth term as County Board Supervisor of District 16 on the Waukesha County Board, Vice Chairman of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission since 2011, Chairman of the Waukesha County Airport Operations Commission since 2005 and Chairman of the City of Waukesha Community Development Black Grant Committee since 1999. He is committed to continuing the foundation’s great work of helping people and families and providing more knowledge and resources for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.

Alyse Bailey is a pediatric nurse at Children’s Wisconsin, a living kidney donor, and a board member for the National Kidney Foundation. Alyse altruistically donated her kidney to 5 year old Elizabeth (pictured with Alyse) on June 19th, 2017.

Jim Ippolite, a founding supporter of J.K. Lee City Youth Martial Arts, shares the story of his search for a living kidney donor. You can read more about him and how to help here: JIM"S STORY

Welcome to our podcast presented by the J.K. Lee Community. We’re going to be bringing you closer to individuals who are living examples of our tenets and oath. Our podcast is being produced, researched and brought to life by students at the J.K. Lee City Youth Martial Arts Program and J.K. Lee Black Belt Academy. In addition to learning about our tenets in action, our students are learning about communication, the media, language, performance, marketing and design! Parental note: Episodes are aimed at children ages ten and up.
