Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
In this episode, Rachelle discusses her research on the use of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as a diagnosis through a sociological lens. She discusses SIDS as a wastebasket diagnosis and the lack of conclusive medical findings surrounding the diagnosis, social diagnoses, and what functions a label or diagnosis serves in our society, especially in the context of infant death.
