The Eve Series Podcast, Episode 3: The Blood Connection with The Renaissance Period

**WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE**

In this episode, I am joined by one of my Legend sisters, Renèe Waters, Founder and Head of Culture of The Renaissance Period. Renée has started a movement to empower individuals to take control of their period health! As a daily, monthly survivor of endometriosis, she knows all too well the challenges we face at the doctor’s office when we are complaining of our symptoms.

When Renée and I get together, it’s always an interesting time! We’ve found our voice and we’re not afraid to use it! Listen in and come back to comment on what were your “Aha” moments!

About Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a chronic, often painful disorder in which tissue that normally grows inside the uterus grows outside the uterus. Endometriosis most commonly involves the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the tissue lining the pelvis. Rarely, endometrial tissue may spread beyond the pelvic region. Symptoms of endometriosis can include pelvic pain and cramping, heavy and/or irregular periods, and infertility.

About Peri-Menopause

Perimenopause is the transition period in a woman's life when her body gradually begins to produce less estrogen and progesterone, signaling the end of the reproductive years. It typically begins eight to ten years before menopause but can last anywhere from two to eight years. Common symptoms include irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings.

The Eve Series Podcast, Episode 2: What Faith Looks Like In A Faithless World with Katrina Marie

The Eve Series Podcast, Episode 2: What Faith Looks Like In A Faithless World with Katrina Marie

I was watching the movie “King Kong” (2017) the other day and there was a scene where the scientists dropped bombs on a deserted island to, as they said, “shake out the enemy”. Well, they shook out King Kong and he was not happy about it!

Anyhow, that’s what this episode will do for the religious, bible-toting, church-inflicted folks. If you love your church and still think the church is the building, you may not want to continue or listen to this episode! You WILL be uncomfortable, and I ain’t holding NOTHING back. I said it how I said it. I’m not “church” flavor, ever since I’ve been redeemed. And let the cherch say…. AMEIN!

In this episode, we talk about how we were able to unlearn the things the old church taught us, that kept us faithless and broke, and relearned who we were created to be - a faith warrior kicking ass and taking names. We even have benediction and the offering plate for the cheerful givers.

Our truth is… the church did NOT prepare us for the faith journey we were on. In fact, the church caused most of our injuries! Well, that’s another story for another day. But in this episode, we tackle suicide, depression, church, religion, alcoholism, domestic violence, poverty, and homelessness… nothing is off limits, with a little silliness along the way. Laughter is medicine to our souls and we are SOUL healing tah-day. Tune in, share it with your congregation, and let’s have real talk and real healing conversations in the church (hint: the church is YOU).

Perimenopause. That’s it. That’s the story!

So when I stepped into the age realm of around 45, my body began to change significantly! I would sweat profusely in all places, especially between my legs. NEVER had I ever sweated before in my life! So when I started sweating, that was a sure sign to me that something was “off”. And then I started having dizzy spells, weak and nauseous to the point of passing out; mood swings were terrible! I would just be mad and irritable for no damn reason. Even I was sick of myself! :)

Tune in for more!
