Legislative priorities

Legislative priorities

In 2003, Minnesota eliminated the inflationary rate which completely changed the actual money school districts receive from the state. Although we’ve technically received more funds since then, it hasn't accounted for inflation. We're receiving around $8 million less and that lack of funding is seriously impacting our ability to support students, staff and families.

Tune into this episode to hear from Superintendent Dr. Renee Corneille and School Board Vice Chair Laura Oksnevad to understand how this all happened, how it affects us and what you as a voter can do to push our legislators to fully fund our schools.

We know it can be terribly frustrating when a bus is late or doesn't show up, or when your student doesn't have access to a reliable educator due to teacher shortages. This episode will explain the situation, where our district is at with fixing these issues and how we want to continue moving forward.
