The Buy Nothing Toy Store is just that... you buy nothing, but get free toys and gently used items in return! Taking place on December 2, 2023, at the St. Anthony Community Services building, families and residents are welcome to peruse all of the things our awesome community have brought together to lower waste in our community.

Donation time: Thursday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 1 - both days are open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., St. Anthony Community Services 

Shopping time: Saturday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., St. Anthony Community Services

The 2023 Read Act, which put into law special state-mandated curriculum for literacy, will transform the way school district teach reading. Superintendent Dr. Renee Corneille and Literacy Coordinator Jaimee Stanley highlight the work being done at St. Anthony - New Brighton Schools, how our district is, in many ways, ahead of the curve, and the background on why literacy even matters.

Join Superintendent Dr. Renee Corneille and St. Anthony-New Brighton and Roseville School Nutrition Supervisor Angie Richey in a discussion on universal school meals for students. Angie will discuss common questions asked by families and explain the district's policy of feeding each child, no matter what. Enjoy!

In 2003, Minnesota eliminated the inflationary rate which completely changed the actual money school districts receive from the state. Although we’ve technically received more funds since then, it hasn't accounted for inflation. We're receiving around $8 million less and that lack of funding is seriously impacting our ability to support students, staff and families. 

Tune into this episode to hear from Superintendent Dr. Renee Corneille and School Board Vice Chair Laura Oksnevad to understand how this all happened, how it affects us and what you as a voter can do to push our legislators to fully fund our schools. 

We're ready to unveil a new episode featuring some of our most hot topic issues: transportation and substitute teachers. We know it can be terribly frustrating when a bus is late or doesn't show up, or when your student doesn't have access to a reliable educator due to teacher shortages. This episode will explain the situation, where our district is at with fixing these issues and how we want to continue moving forward.

The misconception we most often face is whether we're lowering our standards. Some parents believe that our academics are not as rigorous and place the blame on lower-performing students entering our district.
