Accepting the Duality of Motherhood

Accepting the Duality of Motherhood

Today's episode is a chattier conversation talking through the ways we recognize and accept the duality in motherhood. Motherhood is so hard and so good; it is often lonely yet hard to find time for yourself; you can feel out of control and also be the one making all the decisions... it is paradoxical in it's nature. We hope you find this episode as therapeutic as it was for us to talk through!

Slowing Down and Simplifying this Season

Slowing Down and Simplifying this Season

Fall naturally brings with it a pause, a reminder to slow down and pair down and simplify. I always love a reminder to lean into each season but was left this year pondering what role simplification has to play in my life. A day to day with three young kids can feel far from simple or slow. In this episode we discuss the role of simplifying this fall season as well as this season of life.

The episode is brought to you by Innate. You can shop their beautiful pieces for 15% off with code KINDRED15 at shopinnate.com . Does the internet not prey on moms??? We are always reminded that these years are *fleeting*. “Enjoy it, it goes so fast” is, without a doubt, the most common piece of advice passed down to moms of new babies. Here we are left to wonder if it just all goes to pot? Or is there something good for us in the future too? In this episode we talk all about the things we are most excited for in the future with our growing families! By taking the pressure off the the moment- and recognizing we’ve got great days ahead too- we may actually be able to enjoy the present moment rather than freeze with worry that we’re not properly grasping the goodness in front of us before it’s gone!

Giving Ourselves Permission to Get Outside Help as a Mom!!

Giving Ourselves Permission to Get Outside Help as a Mom!!

Let this stand as our personal pep talk in an effort to give ourselves permission to get outside help! Why are moms always the first to sacrifice their time and needs? After years (and 3 kids later) of telling myself "I can do it all if I just work harder!" I'm coming to the realization that getting outside help is for the benefit of my entire family and is worth every penny to increase the quality of our time spent together. Summer hit hard this year and suddenly having no schedule for myself or my kids quickly turned into me trying to keep my head above water- this episode is my current solution!

A Little High Maintenance to be Low Maintenance

Inspired by a tik-tok trend, this episode is an ode to the high maintenance things women do to stay "low maintenance" majority of the time. Moms tend to let themselves take the backseat when it comes to indulgent routines (we are not immune to this) but we believe that there are a few rituals that fill our cups just for the fun and beauty of it.
