With 17 years of classroom experience in education, Michelle has dedicated her career to supporting students with diverse learning needs. Beginning as a classroom teacher, teaching students in grades 4-6, she transitioned into a special education specialist role, where she worked closely with parents, teachers, and students to navigate the intricacies of special education services. Her expertise included guiding parents through the special education process, contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and providing direct support to students in grades 4-8, focusing on reading, writing, and math.

Today, Michelle channels her passion for education into her role as an online math tutor for students in grades 4-8, where she continues to make a difference in students' lives. She loves the flexibility that tutoring offers, allowing her to work with students in ways that are tailored to their unique needs, free from the constraints of traditional classroom settings. Sheryl has Audrey Vadnais back as a returning guest to the Tutoring with Sheryl podcast. Today's discussion is all about reading, writing, and how Sheryl and Audrey are supporting their students as well as other tutors.

Audrey uses handwriting instruction to support her students as they learn the importance of writing. She has developed a very specific way to teach them. She invites tutors wanting to learn these skills to click on her link to get signed up for her course.

Sheryl shares the course she is providing for a self-paced class about what tutors should consider as they are building out their private practice. Teachers already know how to teach, but she has created the course to help them think through the other details they will be faced with.
