Welcome Students to your second semester of back to school winter activities at Spoken Wordplay Podcast Community. This is your head instructor Ms. Tonya Michelle Wilkerson speaking from the heart with a motivational message. The month of Febuary is the time to start celebrating the ” love of self” so in support of your mental, social, physical & emotional health and well beings. I am starting a “Self Love Journal Challenge”. Yes, students if you are in need of strengthening your self respect, embracing your self acceptance and building up your self trust and compassion for one self. Participate in Spoken Wordplay Podcast love of self challenge by creating your own unique daily journal notebook. One of the best ways to bring about positive self improvements and change in your life is to write down a list or draw a picture of all your creative ideas, experiences, dreams and frustrations on paper.

How To Participate In Journal Challenge

Students will use a spiral notebook checklist or a sketchbook to create a self love journal of writing a list or drawing a picture of things that you love or get frustated about yourself everyday. For example, you can write down a list or draw a photo of things you don’t like about yourself versus the many positive qualities you have developed throughout the years, creating a list of things you are grateful for, positive words of encouragement and motivational quotes to oneself and write down a plan of how you are going to achieve your educational, career & financial goals in the near future.

Spoken Wordplay goal is to provide students with mental, social, emotional support and words of encouragement daily with positive repetition "I Am" affirmations, mindfulness meditation and relaxing 8hz Alpha waves clarity music. Students can benefit from listening to Alpha brainwave music to help improve creative thinking, reduce anxiety, lower stress, and decrease depression. Also, Students can benefit from listening and repeating aloud or to yourself Spoken Wordplay positive "I Am" Affirmations and Mindfulness Meditation repetitions as follows: improve self-esteem, change negative thought patterns to positive ones, help motivate students to concentrate more in finishing their school projects & work assignments, control negative feelings of anger, frustrations as well as influence your subconscious mind to access new beliefs to overcome bad habits. Recommendations: make sure you are in a quiet headspace away from any distractions with eyes closed, if possible. The best meditation position for beginners is sitting on floor with legs crisscross or kneeling on your knees, sitting upright (chair or sofa) or standing (slightly bent knees with feet apart) and exercising with eyes wide open (walking or jogging) will help keep you awake and focus. However, if you are unable to do any of those meditative positions, then try lying down flat on your back (floor or bed) with a thin pillow under your head, knees are bent, and feet are flat on floor. The best hand, arm & finger positions: hands are relaxed on leg or lap faced upward with fingers slightly extended or arms mid chest height pretending you are holding a round big balloon in front of you with hands relaxed & fingers slightly extended. Observe the feeling of deep breathing while your mind and body become fully aware of your surroundings, free your mind of any negative thoughts and relax your body. After repeating positive "I Am" Affirmations repetitions and listening to relaxing ambient music you now allow your subconscious mind to access new beliefs. For best results, repeat and listen for 21 days or until you start noticing a powerful transformation has happen to the way you think about yourself such as improvements in your self-esteem, learning abilities and behaviors.
