CougarCast

After a brief hiatus, CougarCast is back with a Christmas themed episode. Join Mr. Boutcher and a host of students for some stories, rapid fire Christmas questions, and some music from Evan Weeks.

We are back for a third season! Join Mr. Boutcher, Nevaeh Vivian, Keara Short and Danny Young as they chat about their summer vacations and what they hope to get from this coming school year.  These three seniors give some well thought out and profound answers.  Have a listen! Go Cougars!

In the season finale of CougarCast Mr. Boutcher welcomes back Mr. Churchill as they give a heartfelt send off to Billie and Lou Lou as they record their last episode before graduating.

CougarCast presents “Talking to Grade 12’s”. In this episode Mr. Boutcher and Mr. Quilty interview several of Clarenville High School’s soon to be graduates. They discuss how it feels to be finishing school, some special memories, things they’ll miss, and their plans for the future.

In this episode Mr. Boutcher provides a recap of a very busy and exciting month at CHS.  Also, the improv team stops by to chat about their experiences at drama festival and the improv competition.  The gang then attempts to try some improving, podcast style, with Mr. Boutcher joining in on the fun.

The video game episode of CougarCast is here.  Billie, Lou Lou and Mr. Boutcher are joined by CHS teacher, Mr. Alex Quilty, to discuss all things video games.  Also in the episode, Mr. Quilty records on location from his weekly games club to hear from some more of our other student gamers as well.  We are also treated with an instrumental version of an 80's classic from one of our talented students.  Go Cougars!!

It’s a bonus episode of CougarCast!  Mr. Boutcher goes on location to Clarenville Middle School and spends the day teaching students about podcasting and records an episode with them in the process.  What would middle school students do if they had 1 million dollars to spend on their school?  You have to listen to find out their answers!

Happy New Year and Happy Anniversary to CougarCast.  This month marks one year since the first episode was published.  The usual gang of Mr. Boutcher, Bille and Lou Lou celebrate the one year mark and talk about new year’s resolutions and goals.  Plus, we hear from several other students on their goals as well and of course some student music!

The Halloween episode of CougarCast is here! Some special guests join the podcast and talk about their own brush with the unexplained as they share some personal scary stories. The gang also shares some Halloween memories and some stories of their own.  Also, a couple confessions from Mr. Boutcher over 40 years in the making.

Welcome to season 2 of CougarCast!  The gang takes some to catch up, talk about the busy school year that has already started, and throw out some interesting "would you rather" questions to some Clarenvlle High School students. 

The season finale of CougarCast comes full circle as the four regulars end the season the way they started it by having an informal round table chat.  They look back on the year gone by, reflect on some highlights, discuss what they've learned, and look ahead to next year and season two.

In this episode Billie, Lou Lou, Mr. Boutcher and Mr. Churchill discuss Easter break, the importance of recharging and getting ready for the final two months of the school year.  They also share some stories from their own personal lives which include some minor hockey adventures and world travels.  Finally, they give you a preview of what’s coming up on the final three episodes of season one.

The “you heard it here first” episode. In this episode we play two original songs written and recorded by a couple of Clarenville High School’s very talented students.  We then have a conversation about their creative process and the inspiration behind the songs.  If you like music, you do not want to miss this episode.  You heard these talented singer songwriters here first!

CougarCast presents the crossover episode.  Billie and Lou join the students of the Viking Voice podcast from Gozaga High School in St. John's.  The four of them together have a great chat covering many topics including current world events and social justice issues.  Tune in and have a listen to the young minds of the next generation of leaders right here!

Lights! Camera! Action! CougarCast presents the movie episode!! The regular panel also welcomes student Keara Short to the podcast to talk about movies.  The pandemic has brought plenty of isolation over the last two years and no doubt there were more movies watched than normal.  The panel shares some of their favourites, least favourites, and some of the best films watched in school.  We also discuss some future plans and give some very special shout outs!

This is the Clarenville High School Wellness Challenge episode! The CougastCast team welcome teacher Ms. Amanda Goulding and student Jillian Pardy to the podcast to chat about this special and innovative project going on at our school that promotes good mental and physical health.  It happens to have some really cool prizes too! As always, there us some sweet music from our talented students as well.  You don't want to miss it. 

In this episode Billie, Lou Lou, Mr. Boutcher and Mr. Churchill discuss embracing winter, the Olympics and the Clarenville High Wellness challenge. They even assign some homework for themselves to be completed by the next podcast.
