The Double Life of a Blanket Thrift Flipper + Retail Therapy with Zach Hippe of Vultúre Reclaimed

The Double Life of a Blanket Thrift Flipper + Retail Therapy with Zach Hippe of Vultúre Reclaimed

If you’re missing your 2008 Snuggie and looking for a calming fireside chat, this TNR! episode is for you. This week, we’re hanging out with Zach Hippe of Vultúre Reclaimed, an electrical engineer in the midwest by day and blanket transformer by night. We’re going over the do’s and don’ts within the world of blanket thrift flips before getting into a little Retail Therapy - intimate, therapeutic chats (or rants) with upcyclers touching on the various ups and downs within this niche, creative industry. This week's topic? The balance between creativity and logic within ourselves, our daily lives, and the world around us. Snuggle up! Let’s rant! (In a super chill way because Zach’s voice is so soothing and his mindset so positive)

Tote Bags and Canada: Mans Best Friends with James Hogan of Victory Lap Sewing

Tote Bags and Canada: Mans Best Friends with James Hogan of Victory Lap Sewing

We’re back with another season of That’s Not Rubbish! And what better place to start than in good ole’ Canada? We’re kicking off this new roster of zero waste designers by exploring the art of tote bags with the king of totes himself, James Hogan of Victory Lap Sewing. But, these aren’t your average totes. Transformed out of random finds - from life vests to boy scout uniforms - Victory Lap totes are full of personality, equipped with various features, and made with the utmost craftsmanship.

Not to mention… tote bags are crucial. They hold our things so we don’t have to. They join us on beach trips, to the grocery store, and back. They’re our best friends, our right-hand mans, our ride or dies. Oh the places we take our tote bags. So, let’s hear about James’s unique sourcing and creation process, inspiration, and roots - you’re toteally not going to want to miss this.

Happy to be back with another season of TNR? Feel free to support and keep the platform going.

Give it up for Ruby Webb, aka @rubychickens! We're going to talk about how a rework workshop in Portland and a lack of plus-size representation in the fashion industry has ignited the fire that has become FiOT.❤️‍🔥🐓

That's Not Rubbish! Intro: Who are we?

That's Not Rubbish! Intro: Who are we?

Hello, hello! I'm Lexi, an upcycler groupie, and I'm teaming up with upcycle designers to open up the conversation on all thing upcycled and circular fashion. Whether you're an upcycler yourself, groupie like me, or somebody that may want to learn more about ways to consume more ethically, we're inviting you on this journey to explore the crazy creative and innovative world where designers are breathing new life into the everyday things we would consider... trash.

But, who are we? Such a good question. This episode, guest Madison and I will introduce ourselves and how our passions for reconstructing preloved materials grew. Our first official episode comes out in 10 days, June 24th and National Upcycle Day!
