Hippocrates was the first to explore the four temperaments and how they affect human behavior. His theory has proven valuable over time, having been adapted for use in many behavioral disciplines. The temperaments, however, aren't just for scientists. They're for you and me as a guide for understanding our tendencies and behaviors and those of others.

Do you find Lent to be a drudge to get through? Or, do you see it as an opportunity?

Lent provides us with the time and space to look at ourselves through God's eyes so that we can see what we truly need to work on. If we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit, asking him to show us our hearts as the Heavenly Father sees them, we will become transformed in Christ.

1. Tune out the chaos, noise, busy-ness, disappointments, distractions, and pressure.

2. Focus on what's most important and nothing else. Most of what you think you have to get done before Christmas can be handled after.

3. Remember that no matter what happens, Jesus was born in Bethlehem on the Holy Night. He came to bring us peace, joy, and salvation. Nothing can change that!
