Canva Innovation and Business Success

Canva Innovation and Business Success

You are very welcome to this week's Podcast Rosemary O'Shaughnessy digitalcontentmanager.ie

This week, I will be chatting about innovation and business success. It is great to see all the businesses that have thrived during the challenges of Covid19.

Earlier in the week I read an article in Fast Company about the The most innovative design companies of 2022 what got my attention was Canva was listed.

I have been using Canva for years for my own business and customers. I am also a Canva Champon.  Canva is a design tool that can be used to create your online and offline designs.

It is used by 85% of the Fortune 500 companies and local businesses, and much more. I found myself thinking of Canva's Corporate values, and I believe that has been important in their success story.

What are they

  • Make Complex Things Simple
  • Set Crazy Big Goals and Make Them Happen
  • Be A Force For Good
  • Empower Others
  • Pursue Excellence
  • Be A Good Human

Make complex simple, in otherwise save time, and you can achieve more when things are not difficult. Set Crazy Goals Canva, Canva has empowered non-designers to design. By being a force for good, Canva has created momentum which has helped their business grow and innovate.  Empower and teach, and that has resulted in a community to help Canva grow. Of course, pursue excellence and see what you can achieve as a result. Be a good human we all want to live in a world full of good humans, especially during these times.

Earlier this week, a businessman asked for my help after looking for the answer on YouTube on how to do something in Canva. He found an old video not up to date and felt frustrated.

Asked me for help and I showed him how it could be done. Something for him that was complex and I was able to make it simple.

Because Canva innovates, yes their site changes, but also extra capability what you can achieve using Canva. If there had been no innovation, Canva would not have grown into the business it is today with such a loyal following.

I am a Canva Champion and an affiliate if you wish to learn more about Canva do not hesitate to contact me

The SME community Ireland & UK on LinkedIn

Welcome to this week's Podcast Rosemary O'Shaughnessy digitalcontentmanager.ie where I speak with Debbie Ringwood from themarketingshop.ie. We chat about the SME Community Ireland on Linkedin and support for business.

SME community started on Twitter around 10 years ago supporting business online and offline.

Today the community has a LinkedIn group of nearly 700 members

  • We believe it is the right time to activate the group again now Ireland is open for business
  •  During covid19 more people have been using Linkedin from looking for jobs or businesses looking for advice on how to trade in a changing market
  • The advantage of a community the members have different talents and skills to help support and guide.
  • Different businesses have different challenges

The aim of the group is

  • Is for it to be a safe space
  • Where people can share ideas and advice , a few people sharing advice can help find solutions to challenges easier than if you are by yourself.
  • Let's give each other advice as things change when people return to work.
  • Do you want to learn about online tools that others could recommend?
  • Advice on how to work with freelancers and remote workers

Debbie's Recommendations

  • Have a plan be cautious as things are still changing
  • Look forward and take action.

My advice

  • What did you learn from your customers during COVID-19 about changed buying habits?
  • What can you do now to give customers more of what they want to help your business grow?

Are you losing 20% of your sales?

Are you losing 20% of your sales?

Welcome to this weeks Podcast this is Rosemary O'Shaughnessy digitalcontentmanager.ie.  I will be chatting this week about how a business lost 20% of a sale and the sales process to avoid that happening.

During Covid19 are shopping habits have changed and how we spend our money. Do you understand the steps and sales process your customers take before spending their hard earned cash with your business.

  • I buy my groceries online how did I make that decision it was due to the offline and online world
  • I noticed a van saying FREE local delivery
  • I visited the website to see if it had everything I wanted in stock on the website
  • I noticed some things I wanted were missing
  • I talked with the owner of the business .
  • We agreed I would get the special offers online and then email my grocery list.
  • Include the items that I wanted that they do not promote online like senior dog food.
  • Is it clear how your customers contact you.
  • Ask questions to see if you have an extra product or service.
  • Can you source products for your customers, in my case senior dog food?
  • Online FAQ or to contact the business offline for example
  • Make it easy for your customers they are busy if the buying process is complicated they could decide not to buy.
  • Like I decided to buy 20% less when I was not offered options when certain foods were out of stock.
  • Make it easy for your customer to buy more not less.
  • I buy food every week, 52 weeks of the year if I buy 20% less and other customers that's a lot of money for any business.

Now are you using a CRM Customer Relationship System?

What is a CRM it s a way to keep a note of those extra things your customers like or do not. To give you information to offer that extra customer service to stand out from your competition.

Examples are HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce

In my example, if I mention my birthday is happening in 11 months' time and I like chocolate cake, the business could have a reminder to send a slice of chocolate cake with my weekly grocery delivery.

I would be so happy and would tell friends family and more. Happy Customers help grow businesses.

  • Do your customers know what you offer
  • Are you offering quality reliable service
  • If they want to buy something new from you do they know how to ask?

Sports Therapist & Belfast Futsal?

Sports Therapist & Belfast Futsal?

Sport matters to us all whether we are spectators or players and it is fair to say that the last two years have brought chaos into the world of sport but hopefully we are coming out the other end.

My podcast this week is with Aidan Raftery a Sports injury therapist who is an online friend for a number of years and the podcast arose out of Aidan's recent appointment as sports physio for Sparta Belfast  Futsal Club who will be competing in a UEFA tournament later this month in Estonia.Aidan is no stranger to the sport of football futsal because he previously filled a similar role in Kiev in 2019 for the Irish diabetic futsal team.

Many of you may have limited knowledge about futsal but to generalize it is a high intensity indoor football sport which is recognised for being great for ball control and skills and is exciting to watch because it is an attacking form of football that is non stop end-to-end stuff

The next thing, we discussed working from home during Covid-19 and how being surrounded by technology can affect our health. Especially when boundaries for working and life are not as clear when working remotely.

During this chat, we discussed EMF shields which Karen uses herself. How Karen recommends meditation. The importance of taking time to relax, and resting.

Another area Karen helps clients is with visualization.
