Will Steger - Arctic & Antarctic Exploration via dogsled

Will Steger - Arctic & Antarctic Exploration via dogsled

In this episode we interview the an incredibly accomplished explorer, Will Steger. Will Steger is an educator, entrepreneur, explorer, and 8 time author (a few titles include: North to the Pole and Crossing Antarctica). Will blended his ability for extreme exploration with cutting-edge technology and pioneered online education – reaching more than 20 million students via online daily journals and even delivering the first-ever transmission of digital photography from the North Pole. Will Steger led the first confirmed dogsled journey to the North Pole without re-supply in 1986, the 1,600-mile south-north traverse of Greenland (the longest unsupported dogsled expedition in history) in 1988, and led the first dogsled traverse of Antarctica (the historic seven month, 3,741-mile International Trans-Antarctica Expedition) in 1989–90. And that is barely scratching the surface! We talk about how he got into exploring such extreme terrain, how others can do it too, and so much more. We also talk about his upcoming solo canoe trip up to the Alaskan wilderness in April of 2023.
