My top 5 ‘woo’ self-care habits

My top 5 ‘woo’ self-care habits

Friend, I know you hear about the importance of self-care all the time.

You know you have to take care of yourself.

But that doesn’t mean it’s easy.

Even when your mind and body are literally screaming at you to take care of yourself - in the form of stress, frustration, panic attacks, or something else - you still hustle and grind and put in more work.

I’ve been there.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing about the time I literally broke out in hives from stress after secret shoppers left devastating reviews for my store.

I’m not even kidding. For two weeks I had these awful, painful, full-body hives.

What’s worse is that I just felt completely lost. Like I had no tools or ideas for getting myself grounded and back into a state of calm again.

If you’re in this place today, I am here for you. You are not alone.

Think of this as your permission, from a coach, to finally put some tools in place for how you’re going to take care of you.

Not just tools, but real chunks of time on your calendar to make it happen.

My body being covered in hives was the wake-up call that I needed to start a self-care routine.

Before that, it was seriously lacking!  But I’ve since incorporated a handful of self-care habits that I cannot live without.

I call them ‘woo’ self-care habits because my husband and family kind of tease me for some of these things!

So if you have some self-care rituals that your friends or family think are a little “weird” too, good for you!

Be unapologetic in taking care of yourself! I’m proud of you, and I’m over here cheerin’ you on. Keep doing those things that allow you to show up in the world as your best self.

Feel free to steal some of the habits I mention here or let them inspire you to create your own!

Alright, let’s dive into these “woo” self-care habits of mine. Press Play!

Finding your life path number

Finding your life path number

Friends, I am so glad you’re with me for today’s show!

My friend Alexander Kriech is here, and he’s sharing how numerology can help us understand our strengths, habits, and personal relationships.

Alex is a numerologist, intuitive, energy healer, and teacher.

He helps people get clear on their own energy by validating their soul’s experiences and putting that into words.

Today, he’s going to explain what numerology is and how it can give you insight into your past and future.

To show an example, he’ll be doing a live reading with me of my life path number.

And you’re going to want to stick around until the end, because he’ll also go through all of the birth date life path numbers from 1 through 9.

So you can do a quick chart of your number by looking up your full birth date, and then listen along and see if you relate to his description of your soul!

If you’re thinking, “What? Life path number? How do chart that?” It’s actually really easy!

Just take the numerical value of your birth year, month, and day, and keep adding all of those numbers together until you end up with a single-digit number.

Or, simply plug your birth date into this Life Path Calculator by Token Rock.

Ready for my conversation and numerology reading with Alexander Kriech!?

The One Thing You Can't Ignore If You Want To Discover Your Life's Purpose

The One Thing You Can't Ignore If You Want To Discover Your Life's Purpose

My beautiful friend, if there was just one piece of coaching advice that I could put in the heart of every woman leader out there, it would be this:

In order to find your purpose, to lead from abundance, and to live a life of fulfillment ~ it is crucial that you quit ignoring your strengths.

I believe this with every fiber of my being.

Discovering my strengths is what literally transformed me from an exhausted, overworked entrepreneur into a business owner with a schedule full of only things that light me up.

I know you might put up some resistance in hearing that I spend every day only doing tasks that I love, and that I do not run my businesses, or my life, from a place of hustle.

Even so, my company is having its best year yet. All the while, I’m also enjoying my relationships with my husband and our family and friends more than ever, and working less.

This may seem unreal to you because we are so conditioned to live in this push-through, work-harder mindset.

But I am dead serious when I tell you that once I quit trying to do it all, and started leaning into my natural gifts and talents and creating my to-do list around using them, my whole life changed.

From my own experience and from working with clients, I’ve come to recognize a pattern in people who are ignoring their strengths.

So for today’s episode, I put together a list of 3 signs that indicate you have a routine or schedule that does not match up with your gifts and purpose.

If you see yourself in any of these signs, I want you to know that today is not a day to feel down about your schedule or your choices.

Today is a day to celebrate that you are taking a huge, important step in becoming the leader and woman you want to be.

Doing self-inventory is no joke, and I’m proud of you for showing up.

Follow these signs and see if you relate to them. If you do, at the end of the episode, I have a way you can get $10 off of your Strengthsfinder assessment, so you can discover your strengths and take this important step in turning your life around, too.

Ready? Press Play.

How to take your strengths and apply them to a career you love

How to take your strengths and apply them to a career you love

Friends, I literally cannot wait for you to hear this interview with the beautiful and talented Molly Bruggeman.

Molly and I connected when she became a coaching client of mine this past spring.

As you’ll hear her explain, when we started our coaching sessions, on paper, her career looked like a dream.

She worked full-time, was using her degree, had benefits, earned a salary that paid for everything she could need, had her own desk inside a big office….

And yet..even though this job seemed like it should be something she felt excited about...she found herself waking up every day and dreading going into work.

She felt completely drained when her shift was over.

She knew she wasn’t using all of her talents to her full potential at work.

Can you relate? ✋✋

I can totally see myself in Molly’s story, and I’m willing to bet many of you can, too.

You’ll hear how she uncovered her strengths and took that first leap in believing in herself (even though anxiety was rearing it’s ugly head and telling her not to) and completely turned things around in her work and life

I have goosebumps just thinking about it.

I can’t wait for you to join us in today’s episode! Press play now.

How to set boundaries

How to set boundaries

Show notes

Beautiful friend, you’re a woman leader who shows up for others with a huge, giving heart.

So I know you’ve spent at least some of your time being a people pleaser and putting yourself last on your list of priorities.

That’s why the word “boundary” might make you feel uneasy. We’ve been conditioned that boundaries are a bad thing. A sign of weakness or missed opportunities.

But today, we’re going to shatter this belief. Because here’s the real truth:

Boundaries do not hold you back. Boundaries set you free!

They block out all the distractions and noise that keep you from going after your purpose.

They force you to understand what really matters to you most, so you can guard your precious time and energy for just that.

In this episode of the podcast, you’ll walk away with 5 steps for setting boundaries in your own life, so you can start taking control of your time and energy today.

How to attract your ideal employees & win back your freedom with the Hiring Blueprint

How to attract your ideal employees & win back your freedom with the Hiring Blueprint

Episode Show Notes:

If I could meet each and every one of you for a face-to-face coaching session and teach you my hiring process, girl, believe me when I say: I would be there in a second with the coffee on!

But since there are only so many hours in a day :) I did the next best thing:

I’ve taken everything I’ve learned, and coached to others, about hiring the right people and put it into an online course: The Hiring Blueprint!💃💃🙌🙌

If you’re working around the clock in your business and feeling exhausted, I made this course for you. I want you to be able to delegate some tasks off your plate & get back to working only in your strengths and giftedness!

If you’re working in a business that will crash into the ground once you leave, because you are the driving force behind every single thing that happens, I made this course for you. I want you to have freedom! Freedom to be able to step away from your business if you need to, or want to, and to know that it will still keep going without you.

If you’re working hard and loving what you do, but barely paying yourself because you’re trying to make a go of it, I made this course for you too! As weird as it may sound, you have to hire people to do some of the “in the business things” so you can work on the business and increase your profit.

This course is anything but the same corporate, stuffy, HR hiring process that you’ve already heard before.

You can hire the right people and get your freedom back - freedom to love your business, love your life, and have control over how you spend your time. I would be honored to support you on that journey with The Hiring Blueprint. Press play to learn more about how this course can serve you!

My 7 Hiring Mistakes

My 7 Hiring Mistakes

Have you ever heard the saying, “You create the content you need to hear?”

Isn’t it true that when you’re looking to feel encouraged in your own life, you find yourself uplifting others through a post on social media, or by sending a text to a friend cheering them on?

Or when you’re feeling like you need to get motivated, suddenly you find yourself creating a list of goals for your day or week. (This is a huge one I think for a lot of us now that we are deep into February and that initial excitement of our New Year’s goals is almost two months behind us!)

This thought that you create what you yourself need really resonated with me!  I realized that while I have been spending a lot of my time recently creating an entire podcast season and an online course dedicated to teaching women business owners how to hire the right people, I have also been right there in the trenches alongside all of you!

Over the past few months, I have been hiring in my own business and making some notable hiring blunders too.

Since I talk to so many women entrepreneurs and coaching clients who share their hiring successes and failures with me, I thought today’s show would be the perfect opportunity to flip that script and let you in on my 7 biggest hiring mistakes that I’ve made within the last year.

You guys know I am a huge believer in learning by failing forward. Failing when you own a business (or do anything really that is worth doing!) just comes with the territory.

I can honestly say that with each of these mistakes that I am going to share with you, I learned so many valuable lessons that have only made my team and hiring process all the better going forward.

My goal is for you to learn from my hiring mistakes too, so you can hopefully avoid having to go through them yourself.

So if you’re ready, let’s tackle some of my biggest hiring mistakes and learn from them together.  Press Play Now!

P.S. Where are my purpose-driven women entrepreneurs at?! If this is you and you’re ready to hire right in your small business, but not sure where to start, I made an online course that will walk you step by step through the entire hiring process. I want to make sure you hire the people who will love your business as much as you do. Sound amazing? Click here to get more info on my course, The Hiring Blueprint.

The power of letting go

The power of letting go

I wanna know, who started this claim that we have to “do it all” in order to run a successful business?

Have you ever thought, “If I just push a little bit harder, then I’ll be able to get XYZ done,” or

“If I just work late three days this week and maybe a little bit on Saturday, then I’ll finally, maybe, be caught up.”

I know I totally have, and maybe you have too.  It’s so easy to get caught up in this thinking that if you push through a little more, or work a few more hours, or sacrifice more of your personal life for your business, that you’ll reach this place of feeling accomplished and content.

You're even more likely to fall into this mindset if you really love what you do. You’re passionate, hardworking, and more often than not, you say “yes” to giving more of yourself to others.

I know all of this VERY WELL. If you weren’t passionate about your business, there’s no way you would’ve had the courage to start in the first place!

Adam Grant, a research professor, author of workplace psychology books, and famous TED Talk presenter reworked a famous quote and I kind of like it. You may know the famous line, "Do what you love and you'll never WORK a day in your life.” He remade it into, "Do what you love and you'll kind of work all the time.” And it’s true! If you love something you’ll get rather obsessive with it and it can quickly consume you.

But if you are the woman who feels like you’re constantly working but not really getting anywhere. Or the woman who loves her business but is feeling more and more completely exhausted by it that you’re thinking of giving it up. Then pay attention my beautiful, passionate friend, because I have some thoughts for you!

In my 10 + years of being a small business owner, I have felt the most in control, and the most empowered, not on the days when I had my hand in every single part of my business, but on the days when I stepped back and let my team take ownership.

I’ll repeat that for you ladies in the back:

The key to taking back control of your business is to quit doing it all, relinquish control & empower others to take on some of the ownership.

Letting go is not weak, it’s actually really really powerful

It means getting back your time and energy, and igniting that fire that you had when you first started your business and were so excited about it every single day.

It also means having the freedom to step away from your business if you need to because you have an out-of-this-world team at your back handling everything until you return.

You are amazing and you deserve to wake up each day and love what you do. So if you’re ready, let’s dive into today’s show and find out how to get off the hamster wheel and start letting go. Press play now!

P.S. If you’re craving more conversations on hiri

Is it time to fire yourself?

Is it time to fire yourself?

We’ve all heard the saying, “Hire slow and fire fast.” But did you know this also applies to you as the owner of your business?

I know you’re thinking, “Well, that’s cute Chelsea. But I can’t fire myself! I mean, I created this business. I built it from the ground up! So if I’m not the right person for this job, then tell me - who is?!”

Firing yourself does sound crazy, right?! But think about it. If you had an employee who kept putting off tasks and not getting things done every week, would you be okay with that?

You would address this if you saw it happening within your business, right?

But think about your own behavior in recent months.

Do you have tasks that you keep pushing off until tomorrow - and then the next day,  and then the next - because you dread doing them? You know the tasks I’m talking about here, and I’m sharing mine with you in this episode!

These are the tasks that when you finally get around to doing them, after shoving them aside for days, maybe even weeks, it takes you so long to finish them.. that by the time you’re done, you have zero energy left to do anything else for the day.

We’ve all had this happen to us!

It is a feeling of defeat and it happens to the best of us and while yes you got those tasks done, in the back of your mind you know it didn’t actually do much to serve your customers or move your business forward, even though it required a lot of your time and energy.

If this is resonating with you, then it is time to fire yourself.

But this doesn’t mean you have to close up shop and quit your business.

Not at all!

It means it’s time for you to automate, eliminate, or delegate some tasks to other people so you can get back to being productive, and not just busy!

I’m going to help you determine if it is time to fire yourself and find out what you can do about it on today’s show. So if you’re ready to let yourself go and get your business back on track, press play now!

A Players don't work for B Leaders

A Players don't work for B Leaders

Have you ever had an employee leave and told yourself, “Well, I guess they just weren’t a good fit.”

If you have, listen up: Turnover is about you as the leader of your business, and not about the employees who are leaving.

Did that sting a little?

It might, and that’s a good thing! Because if you’re showing up as a B leader, you can bet you’re not going to attract A level employees. How you lead makes all the difference.

In today’s episode of Underneath the Clothes Podcast, I’m walking you through a leadership self-assessment to see how you rate in four important areas of management.

You’ll walk away from this episode knowing where you are doing pretty well as a leader, and where you have room to grow.

The best part?

If you’re not where you want to be as a manager today, your story isn’t over yet.

You absolutely have the ability to change and become an amazing leader— one who your employees want to work with and brag about to their friends!

What my employees really think about our hiring process

What my employees really think about our hiring process

You’ve heard me talk about how important it is for you as the leader of your business to have a hiring process in place so you can bring the right people onto your team. But what do your employees think about all of this? What’s it like for them to fill out an application and go through the interview process with you? What’s it like for them to go over job expectations and to be challenged to grow?

To answer some of these questions, and to give you someone else’s perspective on the hiring process that we’ve laid out for you in this season of the podcast, today on the show I am welcoming the lovely Allison Tuttle. Allison is our office manager at Chelsea’s, and I am so thankful to be working with her.

Tune in to today’s episode to hear from Allison on what your employees will really think about your hiring process.

The people that make up my winning team

The people that make up my winning team

You know you need to delegate some things in your business, but you’re stuck! Hiring someone full-time seems like a huge step, and you’re not ready to make that leap.

Guess what my beautiful friend? You don’t have to hire full-time right away! What you can do instead, and what I often do at Chelsea’s, is hire someone part-time (even for as little as 5 or 10 hours a week) to do a handful of related tasks that they do very, very well and thrive doing!

This takes the pressure off of having to hire someone to take on a lot of hours right away, and it also ensures that the person you do hire will really, in core segments, help save you time and take things off your plate.

I have over 20 employees at Chelsea’s, but if I add up all of their hours, altogether they probably work about as much as five full-time employees would. But instead of having five people who are possibly only partially working in their strengths, I have a large team of people, each of whom is super-honed in on their area of expertise and strengths.

I know this might seem different than any other model of business out there, but to be honest, that is totally okay! Everyone’s business is unique, and this is what works for us, even if it is unexpected.

I want you to have the courage to create the team that works for your business too—no matter what anyone else’s looks like!

Join me in today’s episode of the podcast to learn more about my winning team and for ideas and inspiration on how you can build your own.

How to choose your word for 2020

How to choose your word for 2020

Can you believe we’re fast-approaching a new year, a new decade even?

Before jumping into everything 2020 has in store for us, it’s important to first reflect on everything that happened in 2019. We don’t have to live in the past, but understanding where we’ve been is crucial to getting to where we want to be.

I always take December 31 off of work and spend the day reflecting on the previous year. I go through my journal and calendar entries and reflect on all the ups and downs and celebrations and failures that happened. Then, I take what I learned about myself during this process and decide what I want to have more of in my life in the year ahead, and what I want to leave behind me for good.

I’m not gonna sugar coat it—this type of deep reflection is emotionally hard work! But I promise it is worth it. Putting in this work before you jump into a new year will bring you all the closer to the most extraordinary version of YOU

In this episode of Underneath the Clothes Podcast, I’m sharing:

  1. My step-by-step process for reflecting on the year.
  2. How I’m choosing my word for 2020 that represents my goals.
  3. How I close out each year by leaving any hurt, fear, anger, and guilt behind.

What to ask BEFORE making a job offer

What to ask BEFORE making a job offer

How about with a job offer that is totally customized just for them!

Sign me up, am I right?! Before you can make a job offer like no other, you have to really know your employee and what matters to them the most. This part of the hiring process is a small one, but it makes all the difference in setting the tone for your new work relationship.

In today's of Underneath the Clothes Podcast, you’ll learn:

  1. Why it’s important to make a job offer before you present a contract.

When you hire the right people, they pay for themselves

When you hire the right people, they pay for themselves

I remember thinking, “I am barely making enough money to pay myself, how am I going to be able to hire someone and pay them, too?”

Sound familiar?🙋🙋🙋

If the cost is what’s holding you back from hiring someone to help you in your business, I understand that fear. But what if you flipped that thinking, and instead of only seeing the upfront cost of hiring, you saw all the things you stand to gain by hiring.

Things like:

✅ More time to work on your business, instead of just in it.

✅ More time to do the tasks that align with your strengths and fill your cup (instead of depleting your energy).

✅ More time with your family and friends (goodbye 80-hour work week!! 👋👋)

I mean, imagine if you hired someone for only 5 or 10 hours each week. What could you do in your business in that time to not just make that money back, but double it or even take it times five? You don’t have to hire full time to see a big difference. The key is hiring the right people, because when you do, they more than pay for themselves.

In this episode of Underneath the Clothes, we’re teaching you:

  1. How to hire someone in your small business even if you only have $50 or $100 each week to spare.

  2. How to delegate tasks so you can get back to using your strengths in your business vs. doing everything else (and how this will help grow your profit).

  3. Why it’s so crucial that you take your time hiring.

How to actually get to know someone in an interview

How to actually get to know someone in an interview

Imagine knowing your future employees.

I mean really knowing them, like what motivates them, what kind of environment they thrive in, and how they respond to challenges.

Now imagine knowing all of this BEFORE you hire them, not after. #GameChanger!!

One thing I hear over and over again from job candidates after they interview with Chelsea’s is that our interview process is unlike any other they've been a part of before.

And that’s a good thing! Because I truly believe an interview isn’t just your typical Q & A, but rather, it’s your chance to meet the people who share your values and will work alongside you toward your bigger mission!

How amazing is that? As business owners, if we’re not excited to be meeting our future team members, then we’re not doing something right in the interview.

So close that Google search on “Interview Questions” my friends, you won’t need that here because we’re crafting something so much better!

In this episode, we’re sharing:

  1. Details on the three types of interviews we do with all of our full-time employees.

  2. Interview questions that will really reveal if someone shares your mission, core values, and company culture.

  3. The hands-on activities that you should be doing in every interview to see your job candidates’ skills in action.

How to set expectations

How to set expectations

We are in our FOURTH episode in our hiring series on this podcast, and today we are talking about one of my favorite things: Setting Expectations. I am celebrating because I know this episode is going to change your business (and life!) for the better, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!

For some people, the term “setting expectations” might seem a little scary. Maybe you’re picturing yourself having to give a stern lecture to someone else, or giving a boring presentation on rules, rules, and more…rules. But I promise this is not the case!

Setting expectations means you are laying the groundwork for open communication and accountability, and that happens BEFORE you hire. At Chelsea’s, we go over two sets of expectations during every interview:

1)      Employee’s Expectations, and

2)      Manager’s Expectations.

That’s right friends, expectations are a two-way street. We expect a lot out of our employees, but we also want them to know they can expect a lot from us as their managers.

Today’s show is all about communicating those expectations, and you’ll walk away knowing:

1)      How to identify your expectations and why it’s important to go over them during the interview process.

2)      Some examples of effective expectations for both employees and managers, and

3)      The benefits of having your employees take ownership of their expectations.

How to create an effective job description & application

How to create an effective job description & application

Show Notes

Welcome to the THIRD installment in our series on hiring! 🙌 If you’re new around here, so far we’ve learned: The reasons why you keep hiring the wrong people, and how to use your core values and mission statement to connect with your ideal employees.

To introduce today’s episode, I’m going to paint a picture for you of my early days of running Chelsea’s. Let’s see if you can relate:

When I first started hiring, I knew what qualities I wanted in my employees, but communicating those ideas with others was the tricky part. I figured the best way to find the employees I was looking for was to meet them first, so instead of writing down a job description and application, I had people stop at the store for interviews. Or, I’d schedule interviews with people just because they were recommended to me by others.

Raise those hands if this sounds all too familiar!✋

While this process might seem easier than writing out a job description and application, it actually takes sooo much more time and energy that is better spent elsewhere in your business. Think about it: You’re essentially interviewing every person who walks through the door, without knowing if they even really understand what they are applying for.

Instead, you want to make sure you are only interviewing the best candidates for the job by creating job descriptions and applications that really describe your expectations and values. Today’s show is your roadmap to doing just that. We’re talking about:

1)      Why you need a job description and application process for each position.

2)      The SEVEN things every effective job description should include, and

3)      The THREE application questions that are going to connect you with the potential employees you actually want to interview.

Why you keep hiring the wrong people

Why you keep hiring the wrong people

Episode #17 Why you keep hiring the wrong people

Pay attention sister, because I’m about to throw some tough love your way.

If you are having problems with your employees or problems hiring the right people—it is YOUR fault.

I’m gonna repeat that one more time for the ladies in the back: It is YOUR fault.

Those excuses we all use to blame everyone else when an employee doesn’t show up for a shift, or never meets expectations after they’re hired? It’s time to let those go for good. You know the ones I’m talking about. They sound like this:

“There just aren’t any good employees who actually want to work!”

“No one cares about my business like I do. If I want it done right, I have to do it myself!”

“I just cannot find anyone who is a good fit for my business!”

No, No, and No. If you’re going to point fingers or play the blame game, those fingers better be flying your way!

Can we still be friends? 😊 I know this might sting a little, but I also know it’s so important that you hear the truth: The only way you are going to start hiring the right people is if you as a leader take ownership of your own actions. And in this episode, we’re talking all about how you can do just that.

In today’s show we:

1)      Walk through how you can take your own personal inventory, so you can see the ways you are really showing up for your team.

2)      Talk about setting clear expectations (hint: they’re for your employees and you).

3)      Discuss the importance of hiring based on alignment with your core values and mission statement.

How I fake being organized (Part 2)

How I fake being organized (Part 2)

Beautiful listeners, my fingers are flying across the keyboard as I write this note to you. Next week, I am launching something BIG at the Underneath the Clothes Podcast, and in today’s episode, I am giving you a front row seat to all the exciting things I have planned JUST for you!

In a nutshell, hiring the right people is everything. Maybe you know you are at the point where you could hire one or more employees, but you have no idea where to even start. Or maybe you have hired people in the past, only to have them quit within a few weeks, leaving you back at square one of the hiring process. Heck, maybe you already do have the best team ever, but are struggling to show them you care and to build up that fun and dedicated work environment we all crave.

I am so passionate about the hiring process, and hiring the RIGHT people, and it all starts with knowing your strengths and weaknesses and finding people who can complement those. This episode is all about how my team and how their strengths keep this disorganized girl organized, but it is also an invitation to join me for the next six weeks as I dive deep into the topic of hiring.

If you are ready to grow your business, I truly believe you can do it one of two ways. You can either put in 80 hours a week, sacrifice time with your family, and let your business take control of your life. I’ve been there, and it caused me so much burn out that I almost lost everything. The other option that I’ve found to be so much better? You can hire a team who keeps things running smoothly in your absence, who steps into the gaps, and who can help you take all of your big dreams and turn them into completed goals. You deserve to run your business, instead of it running you.

Click the image above to listen to Part 2 in my “How I Fake Being Organized” series, and be sure to stick around until the end to get the insider scoop on my up-and-coming Hiring Series!

How I fake being organized (Part 1)

How I fake being organized (Part 1)

Beautiful friends, I have three words for you to memorize today: ASANA DOT COM.

When I tell other entrepreneurs about ASANA, l feel like the kid on the playground who just heard a secret about the best surprise birthday party ever and cannot wait to spread the news! ASANA is a task management software that is SUPER easy to use, clears up my inbox, keeps me focused, and (here’s the best part) IS TOTALLY FREE! I use ASANA for so much, from organizing my business to keeping track of my personal errands and appointments, that my team knows my mantra: If it isn’t in my ASANA, it’s probably not getting done!

Speaking of secrets, in this episode I am letting you in on one of mine:

I might just be one of the most disorganized people you will ever meet.

Shhh!!! 😊

But, here’s the deal: Being disorganized does not stop me from leading two businesses, running a masterminds group, managing over 15 employees, and hosting this podcast. Nope, not at all!

So, if you are the girl with way too many to-do lists (most of which you can’t find), more sticky notes with reminders than you can count, and a Google drive that could use a serious KonMari overhaul- do not despair! From one disorganized friend to another, there are things you can do to “fake” being organized and keep all your boss babe dreams in order.

In this first installment of my two-part series on “How I Fake Being Organized,” I’m going to teach you how to get started with ASANA so you can streamline your tasks and see them all in one place. I can’t wait to hang out with you! Let's get started!

Profit first with Megan Dahle

Profit first with Megan Dahle

How many of you actually like looking at the numbers in your business?

How many of you understand those numbers?

And, how many of you think you are truly paying yourself what you are worth?

Yikes! Tough questions, I know. But if the word “numbers” makes you shudder and want to escape into the land of chocolate and blissful unawareness, then stick with me on this one because Megan Dahle is about to shatter everything you ever thought you knew about sales, profits, and expenses.

Megan is a numbers girl, as you will find out in this episode. Growing up, she helped her mother with the books in her business, and since then her talents have only multiplied. (Pun intended 😊.) Megan has a master’s in accounting, is a highly sought-out virtual CFO, and a Profit First professional. She is also a business owner who has seen her own numbers go from down to up, so she can relate on a personal level with her clients.

I brought Megan on the show to tell us all about Profit First and how it can empower you to not only understand your money, but to manage it in a way that leads you to reaching your goals.  She shares about the mindset shift Profit First uses to get business owners to think of their profits FIRST, and how it's possible to pay yourself a salary that matches the talent and time you put forth while operating a business that fits inside of your expenses.

When I started using Profit First at Chelsea’s Boutique, for the first time in almost a decade of business, I actually started paying myself a real salary AND was able to put away $50,000 in savings for a down payment on our new home. Cue all the champagne bubbles!

The bottom line is this: Your money does not have to be a monster. It really can work for you, and I am proof of that. Listen as the lovely, witty, and extremely talented Megan Dahle talks about how every business owner can use Profit First.
