8. Love The Phase You're In: Derek and Jamie Phelps
For the first time ever on the show, I got to sit down with a married couple, Jamie and Derek Phelps. The ex-Austinites tell us what motivated them to move to Colorado to parent their now 5 ½ year old son. We discuss the struggles of managing fight or flight when our kids yell at us, and how a little perspective can help you love the phase of parenthood you’re in, no matter how frustrating it can sometimes be. Derek is a comedian known for having a sense of humor drier than a Texas summer, so grab a tall glass of iced tea and enjoy the show. As always, thank you for listening! 7. Modeling Joy & Self-Care For Our Kids: Kaitlyn Zolli of FIT4MOM
Welcome to the 7th episode of Juggling Joy, the podcast for parents to know… the juggle is real. My guest today is Kaitlyn Zolli. She’s a fitness instructor and owner of FIT4MOM in Cedar Park, Texas. She shares how parenthood helped her pivot into business ownership, and how she models self-care and body positivity for her two little girls. I got a big, sunny dose of energy from talking with Kaitlyn and I hope you do too. Thank you SO MUCH for being here. Enjoy the show! 6. Mom Guilt, Finding Balance & Swiss Cheese Brain: Chantel Getz
5. Fear, Failure & Parenting Teens: Kelly Kent
She talks about what led to a sharp turn in her relationship with her eldest daughter, the impact of fear on their relationship, and what she would do differently if she had to do it all over again. Stick around to the end for a bonus two-minute interview with my five AND A HALF year old son, who tells me what it’ll be like to be a teenager.
Just a warning before we get started, this episode has mentions of eating disorders, self-harm, and suicide. If you or someone you know is struggling with a mental health crisis, call the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988.

3. Sobriety, Tacos & Why You’re Actually Still Cool: Chuy Zarate
Because Chuy is a politician, we do discuss some local politics. Something that I’m working on personally is not allowing political conversations to derail me emotionally.
I believe that the political IS personal, so it makes perfect sense that these very personal topics of human rights, the health of our school systems, and where our tax money goes, trigger an emotional response. But what happens is, we let that emotion wash over us and we stop listening. We stop looking for solutions. We stop seeing the human being on the other side of the conversation. And our communities become more and more divided.
So, I’m inviting you now to join me in stretching in this way. When you get to that part of the episode, simply NOTICE how your listening changes. If you find yourself walling up, having a conversation with yourself in your mind, wanting to reach for the pause button, consider what it would be like to soften.
Disagreement is uncomfortable! But it's ok to be uncomfortable. We can learn how to BE WITH it. Because discomfort is where growth lives. It’s where understanding occurs. It’s where solutions are born.
Now that I’ve made it sound really intense, let me just say that this isn’t a super serious episode and we do laugh a lot, and I hope you do too. Thank you for being here and enjoy!
