18. Veronica Reyes-How: Award Winning Writer-Actor-Producer // Her New Pilot with 6 Episodes Ordered, Mathematician to RENT National Tour, “Blue Bloods, “The Blacklist” & more

A multi-hyphenate anomaly! Veronica and I have known one another for a few years here in NYC - not only is she one of the BEST audition coaches (speaking as her client), just read her epic bio below for a whole lot of goodness. I appreciate Veronica’s heart, kindness, faith and generosity. We hope you’re encouraged by this episode.

Veronica Reyes-How is an award winning writer/actor/producer based in NYC. A graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A in Mathematics, she left a career in technology consulting to pursue acting when an open-call audition resulted in her booking the national tour of Rent. Other acting credits include Miss Saigon, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. CBS’ Blue Bloods, NBC’s The Blacklist, CBS’ Person of Interest, and ABC’s Alex Inc. She produced the short film California Roll, which was accepted into 10 film festivals around the country and won the Best Micro Thriller at the 2018 Austin Revolution Film Festival. As a director, she has worked for Theatreworks USA, The Barrow Group, and Unity Stage Company.
All of these roads lead to her love of writing original narratives. Through a string of recommendations, Veronica was hired to write a pilot by an independent producer. The reading of said pilot went so well, the budget went up and she was asked to make a 6 episode series. This is under a SAG MLB contract and goes into production in June 2023. This is her first tv series writing credit, hopefully not her last.
Also last year, she was invited into the Sesame Street Fellowship. After completing it, she was hired by MathTalk to be the Head writer and architect of the world and stories for their animated kids series, combining her love of writing, mathematics, education and comedy.
Outside of work, she’s a poker enthusiast (only to use her math skills, not for money!), loves to play tennis and watch animal videos with her husband and their 13 year old chihuahua, Fergus.

Amanda and Alli grew up as neighbors from the age of 8 years old! Years later Alli would capture Andrew and Amanda’s wedding, later featured in The New York Times, Vogue, Page Six and more. In this episode Alli and Amanda interview one another! From wedding tips to career pivots, from family to faith, from childhood until now. Please enjoy and give us a rate, review & subscribe!

Alli is an award winning wedding and portrait photographer serving all of the U.S. and abroad. You’ve seen her featured on TheKnot.com as a repeated recipient of their “Best Of” awards! Norway remains her favorite photography location to date. This year's schedule is currently bringing her to Memphis, Philadelphia, and all the way to Maine. Her career did not start here, though. Alli graduated college with a TV degree and worked in Los Angeles for 10 years before moving closer to family to make her wedding business full time. She worked on shows such as The Doctors, Jersey Shore, Cold Case Files, and others. Weddings and portraits began as a creative outlet from what was a very stressful TV environment. It was a chance for family and storytelling to fill her cup while living far from home. It reconnected her to friends and provided a fulfilling challenge. With time, this hobby has morphed into the most meaningful career decision she could have made.

From Ben and Ale at Between A & B...

Our mission is to help you pursue DEEP HEALING to experience TRUE FREEDOM and preserve a THRIVING SOUL by RE-DEFINING CARE. And while feeling brokenness is real, we want to bring healing to your soul so that the light that is already there can shine through your eyes again, brighter than ever before.

We provide practical tools for living truly free
We help you engage with beautiful truths about yourself
We ask questions that unlock key answers for your life
We help you connect to your heart
We help you forgive

About Ale: COACHING, SPEAKING, TEACHING
Ale was born and bred in Guatemala. For many seasons of her life, Ale struggled with toxic shame, self hatred, and powerlessness, causing her struggle to be who she really was. Eventually, she began a journey of pursuing healing for herself through discovering the love of the Father. Through many moments of extraordinary breakthrough, and a beautiful process of walking it out, she was able to step out of her shame and fear, and into a space of infinite possibility and true peace.

After she experienced so much breakthrough, it became her desire to help others encounter the same freedom. Fourteen years ago, she started informally meeting with people, especially younger girls, and started noticing people having similar breakthroughs. Since then, Ale has been coaching individuals as they navigate the challenges of personal growth. She has been able to do this as a financial coach, in non-profits, in the private sector, and in faith-based communities. Today, Ale has a passion for helping people find what drives them, overcome their core fears, and thrive in their own story.

About Ben: ADVOCATING, TEACHING, OFFICIATING
Ben grew up in a suburb of Denver, Colorado. After high school, he moved to Costa Rica with a rough plan of opening a surf cafe and no real timeline for returning to the US. While visiting neighboring Guatemala and Nicaragua, Ben’s plans changed when he encountered children living in devastating poverty.

A journey that was headed toward escaping life’s challenges was re-routed toward confronting difficult issues in our world head-on through learning, volunteering, and personal healing. Many years after those transformative moments in Latin America, Ben still works to bring healing to human hearts, the pivotal building block of the world we all imagine.

Now, in New York City, Ben is a dedicated advocate for emotional healing and mental health. His own life has transformed as he has pursued healing for himself, but he believes that while all of our roads are unique, there are breakthrough doorways into true freedom and joy for each of us. Humbly, Ben is passionate about helping individuals find the doorways to their breakthrough.

3. Lyndsey Marks: The Curated Coach // Relaxing Meditations, Mindfulness and What It Means To Be “At Your Granny’s”

Lyndsey Marks is a certified Health and Wellness Coach with a vision to journey with individuals to help them experience holistic wellbeing. Starting with a focus on her own physical health during the pandemic in 2020, Lyndsey soon began to realize the importance of caring for the whole person and the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and soul.

She believed in this so much that she decided to do something about it and her business ‘The Curated Coach’ was born.

In this episode, we enjoy the distinct pleasure of being led in meditation by Lyndsey at the beginning and the end of our conversation. She also shares about coming to faith in Northern Ireland, as we delve more into the heart of her passion for helping others connect to God, themselves & others.

In essence, this is all about experiencing authentic freedom. Lyndsey creates a nurturing and safe space for clients to feel seen, heard and valued. This approach is founded on the belief that the journey to freedom should never be about leaving feeling more in deficit, but pausing to recognize the areas in our lives worth celebrating, and exploring the doors of opportunities that lie ahead.
